About this OS

WHAT / WHERE / WHO

WeLoveC Classic is an independent x86-64 operating system that boots through UEFI. It brings together a custom boot manager and kernel, a freestanding userland, and a lightweight desktop. It was first developed in 2024 under the name LawOS from where key componentes would be reused in another os named KryptonOS wich after losing its code got renamed and redisigned in what we know today as WeLoveC.

WHAT IT IS

A bare-metal OS project: UEFI boot, an x86-64 kernel, memory and process services, and programs that run in user space.

HOW IT BEGAN

The project README dates its start to late 2024. The first public code upload is dated October 31, 2026.

WHO MADE IT

WeLoveC Classic is created and maintained by Martin Szokai or saphhic. The source, project notes, and release history are published openly.
